Kerala is known for its beautiful beaches and extensive backwaters, and is one of the major tourist attractions in India. Golden beaches, green shores, gentle waves and white surf soothe your mind and body. You are as free as a wave on the sea in this free zone. The palm-fringed beaches of Kerala are famous for the tender waves and clean blue waters.

Kovalam
Kovalam means a groove of coconut trees and this village offers an endless sight of extensive area of coconut trees. It is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent - shaped beaches. The southern most part and the most popular is the light house beach. The northern beach is Samudra. The middle, Hawa beach is a beehive of hectic activities with fisherman setting out for sea. It has been a favourite haunt of tourists. This beach has a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for swimming and sea - bathing safely. Kovalam offers accommodation options to suit all budgets. Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala is just sixteen Km away from Kovalam.

Varkala
Varkala is a calm and quiet hamlet which lies 55 Km north of Thiruvananthapuram city. It has a beautiful beach, a 2000 years old Vishnu temple and the Ashramam - ' Sivagiri Mutt' - the final resting place of the great social reformer, Sree Narayanaguru. High cliffs rise majestically from the coastine. It is also an important Hindu centre of pilgrimage; A dip in the holy waters at this beach is believed to purge the body of impurities and the soul of all sins. Hence the name "Papanasam beach". A century old tunnel is another attraction of this place.

Alappuzha
It has always enjoyed a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala. It was known as "Venice of the East". Today it is famous for its boat races, backwater holiday beaches, marine products and coir industry. Alappuzha beach is a popular picnic spot too.


Cherai
It is the lovely beach in Ernakulam District bordering the Vypeen Island. This spot is ideal for bathing and swimming. Dolphins are occasionally seen here. This beach is unique with the sea in the western side and the backwaters on the east.


Kappad
It is a pleasant stretch of rock - studded beach in Kozhikode District. This beach has historical significance as Vasco da Gama landed on 27th of May 1498 with 170 men in three vessels. A monument on the beach commemorates this historic event. This has created a new chapter in the world history.

Bekal Fort Beach

Kasargod the northernmost district of Kerala, is renowned as the land of gods, forts, rivers, hills and beautiful beaches. The imposing circular fort at Bekal is one of the largest and the best preserved ports in Kerala. The Bekal Fort beach is very shallow which offers a spectacular view of the fort and has ample facilities for recreation and relaxation.
